(THAMES CENTRE, ON) - The Municipality of Thames Centre is proud to announce the
launch of our “Support Local” program. An initiative in response to requests from local
business owners for assistance in increasing awareness of their businesses and what they
have to offer to our community. Whether agricultural, retail, service industry, restaurant,
industrial, commercial, or something in between, the Municipality is eager to help promote
local businesses for FREE via this program.
“We know that the pandemic has caused challenging times for our local businesses. This
program is a unique way to encourage residents to support local businesses and encourage
those outside Thames Centre to visit our beautiful community and experience everything it
offers, " says Thames Centre Mayor Alison Warwick.
Thames Centre’s Director of Community Services and Facilities Steve MacDonald says, “the
benefits to supporting local businesses are endless including keeping dollars in our
community, creating jobs, supporting entrepreneurship, reducing our environmental impact
and develops a community well-being.”
Businesses receive free signage and are featured in “Support Local” brochures available at
businesses and at various locations around Thames Centre. Businesses are also featured on
Thames Centre’s website, social media and app. Thames Centre is currently developing the
“Support Local” e-brochures to make it even easier to discover local businesses.
