Significant Weather Event Declared
Residents Urged to Exercise Caution, and to Avoid Unnecessary Travel
THAMES CENTRE – As of 12:30 PM the Municipality of Thames Centre has declared a Significant Weather Event due to large amounts of snowfall and wind-blown snow. This impacts all of Thames Centre, and surrounding areas, including Middlesex County.
This weather event means reduced visibility on roadways and it can make travel hazardous.
“Safety is our top priority,” said CAO David Barrick. “We encourage everyone to avoiding unnecessary travel and stay informed through official channels.”
The Public Works department will be performing snow removal as efficiently as possible. Keeping roads clear of unnecessary traffic will aid them in this task.
According to forecasts, snow is expected to continue throughout the day and evening, and wind-blown snow will continue to impact the area through Friday.
