Thames Centre Council Greenlights New Community Garden
THAMES CENTRE - Thames Centre, Ontario, March 28, 2024 – Thames Centre Council has given the green light for the establishment of a new Community Garden outside of the FlightExec Centre, utilizing the fenced area previously occupied by the co-op nursery. Additionally, the existing community garden at the Thorndale Library will receive support and enhancements. These initiatives mark a significant step forward in fostering Community Engagement and Sustainability within the Municipality.
With the approval of these projects, Thames Centre will now offer two community gardens, with plans for more in the near future. This initiative aims to provide accessible green spaces for residents in our two largest communities, Dorchester and Thorndale. The Dorchester location is particularly well-equipped, already featuring fencing, a storage shed, and water facilities. The Thorndale site, though already established, will receive further enhancements to better serve the community.
By investing in initiatives like community gardens, Thames Centre aims to promote healthier lifestyles, encourage community interaction, and enhance the overall quality of life for its residents.
Thames Centre residents are encouraged to stay tuned for further updates on the development of these community garden projects, as well as opportunities to get involved in their maintenance and utilization.
