Thorndale Wastewater Treatment Plant Expansion
Schedule C Municipal Class Environmental Assessment Study
The Study
The Municipality of Thames Centre (Municipality) has retained Stantec Consulting Ltd. to complete a Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (EA) to identify options for expansion of the Thorndale Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP), located at 1135 Ideal Drive, as shown on the map below.
The Thorndale WWTP provides municipal wastewater treatment to Thorndale.
WWTP expansion alternatives will be developed to address current needs and consider anticipated community growth.
How Can I Participate?
An in-person Public Information Centre (PIC #1) is being held using a drop-in format, with members of the project team available to discuss the project and respond to any questions you may have.

Location: Thorndale Lions Community Centre – Meeting Room #1

Time: 5pm - 7pm

Comments are requested by February 2, 2024.
This study is being undertaken in accordance with the requirements of Schedule C projects, as outlined in the Municipal Class EA document (2000, as amended in 2007, 2011, 2015 and 2023) which is approved under the Ontario Environmental Assessment Act. Near the end of the project, an Environmental Study Report (ESR) will be prepared to document the EA process, consultation activities, and the evaluation. The ESR will be presented for a 30 day public review at the time.
