Happy International Women’s Day Thames Centre!
Our celebration of remarkable Thames Centre women in honour of International Women’s Day would not be complete without honouring the iconic Jean Davis!
Jean is, and has always been, a beautiful light in our Municipality with a deep connection to all residents. Her tireless efforts extend far beyond words, touching the lives of every one of us, offering opportunities where they might not have existed before.
From her early days as a Brownie to her influential leadership in establishing the first-ever Dorchester Brownie Unit, Jean's journey symbolizes the essence of investing in women. Her passionate commitment to equality shines through her involvement in the Recreation Committee and her pivotal role in creating the Dorchester Playground Program – which provides children with a place to laugh and play in the summer months. Moreover, Jean's dedication ensures that every family experiences the joy of Christmas through her coordination of the beloved Thames Centre Angel Tree. And these are just a few of the incredible opportunities Jean has brought to Thames Centre – the list goes on.
We are deeply grateful for everything she has done and continues to do for our community. Thank you, Jean, and thank you for inspiring us all with your selflessness and compassion.
