Q&A's from the PIC Meeting
When a property owner connects to the Sanitary Sewers, can the old septic be used as rain barrels?
When connecting to Municipal sanitary services the old septic must be decommissioned (remove / destroy tank or fill with pea gravel, drill holes in the bottom)
Can any individual hook up to the Sanitary Sewers if it is to OBC/ to the Building Departments satisfaction? (Meaning property owners do not need a certified plumber if they can meet OBC requirements building/ connecting on their own)
All plumbing work shall be completed by a certified plumber/drain layer.
Is the framework for building Tiny Houses on an existing residential lot set out by the Municipality? What does this mean in terms of services (do they need a separate water, sanitary and storm connections to the tiny house)
When there are additional buildings on site that have plumbing services, the plumbing will need to be connected to the house plumbing or underground services prior to the connection at the street so there is only one connection at the street / one meter. So, Water needs to be tied to the house, sanitary can drain to the house and connect below the floor slab or can be tied to the service to the house with a “Y” fitting.
